Soft Landing: Mattress Recycling |

Soft Landing is Australia's largest mattress recycler
We're an Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) Approved Recycler and we work with national mattress retailers local councils and responsible consumers to reduce mattresses in landfill.
Through our manual dismantling method we ensure the highest percentage of mattress materials (up to 75%) are reclaimed for recycling while creating jobs for people who need them most.
As a registered charity and not-for-profit social enterprise every mattress we recycle creates real positive change for people and planet.

So we reckon its $50+
Is mattress recycling really worth it?
Yes. We can't express enough how much of an impact mattress recycling has on sustainability. From a case study conducted by Climate Choices 1.8 million mattresses find their way to landfills every year. To put that into perspective a mattress with pocket springs can have up to 2000 springs. That's potentially three billion six hundred million springs going to waste every year not to mention the timber husk fabric and foam that's also going to waste. So yes it's definitely worth recycling your old mattress.
Can any mattress be recycled?
Soft Landing can recycle foam latex and innerspring mattresses. If your mattress isn't one of these listed you can still contact your local recycling centre landfill or Soft Landing centre. They might be able to provide some additional information on how to best recycle your mattress or dispose of it in an eco-friendly way.
