Tasmanian Indie Author Book Fair 2026

The Tasmanian Indie Author Book Fair is almost here.. and what better place to be with your Mum on Mother's Day!

2026 sees the 7th annual Tasmanian Indie Authors Book Fair in the Long Gallery at the Salamanca Arts Centre.

By public demand this year's iconic event is bigger and better than ever, now being held over two days, Saturday May 9th and Sunday May 10th (10am to 3pm).

Can you imagine taking your mum out on Mother's Day, watching her browse through a variety of titles ranging from romance to sci-fi, thrillers and crime to fantasy.. and then meeting the authors who wrote them!

Better still.. entry is FREE!

The Tasmanian Indie Authors are having a real impact on the Tasmanian literary scene.

Not only has the annual book fair become a 'must do' for readers, but our authors have been running writing workshops for local secondary students.

This year the indie author's school workshops at the Island Readers and Writers Festival later in May are already booked out!

Over 50 of our authors will be presenting their works at this year's Book Fair. Covering almost every genre imaginable, all are original works by Tasmanian authors, and all titles will be available for purchase on the day.

Entry to the event is free for the public. Last year's event had hundreds of attendees with a surprising number of interstate visitors. This is a great opportunity to meet the authors, discover new authors, buy some books and have them signed. There will be book giveaways throughout the day.

- We are a group of over 300 authors from across the state
- Our membership includes many award winning and bestselling authors
- Our authors sell thousands of books a year across the globe. Many people are surprised that the USA is our biggest market.
